Coombabah has a long tradition of cultural events and opportunities.
A full instrumental music program operates incorporating Woodwind, Brass, Strings and Percussion servicing the performing groups of Concert Band, Stage Band, String Orchestra, and Year 8 Orchestra Excellence class.
Smaller ensembles both Junior and senior String Quartets regularly are invited to play for conferences, Awards events, Art, openings throughout the year such as the “Master builders Awards ball , the Government Conference, and Synergies Art exhibition.
Groups regularly perform in the “Fanfare” competition, and the Gold coast eisteddfod and the” Out of School Blues festival.”
Students have the opportunity to be involved in the Musical Theatre Orchestra of large scale productions such as “Camelot” 2006.
Music and Dance performance evenings are held regularly which showcase a variety of performances both large and small including vocal and Rock Band performances.
Performing groups also support the Annual Sports Awards and the Academic awards evenings each year.
Senior Music students provide the music for the formal Anzac Service, and we have a regular relationship with the Tricare Nursing Centre Labrador where we send performing groups to play for our Seniors in the community.
Music Staff, ex- Coombabah musicians, and senior students extend their contribution to the wider community through active involvement in the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arts Orchestra, and the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra.
