Aim of the program:
- To celebrate and reward hardworking students and excellent performance
- To promote continued academic excellence through enrichment and mentoring.
- To identify high achievers and maximise their potential to achieve the highest OP score possible and achieve their academic goals.
- To ensure that Coombabah SHS retains quality students.
Who enters the honours program?
The highest achieving students each semester (based on type of study program and academic achievement).
Honours Program Levels:
Within the Honours Program there are 4 levels.
- Honours Student Gold – 4 Consecutive Semesters making the Honours List
- Honours Student Silver – 2 and 3 Semesters making the Honours List
- Honours Student – 1 Semester on Honours List
- Honours List Highly Commended – Student who narrowly misses the criteria for honours list.
Promoting Academic Excellence:
- Teacher mentor for each student (Yr 11 and 12 students)
- Accelerated studies (if appropriate)
- Honours Group Mentoring
- Opportunities for enrichment activities and specialist programs
- Portfolio Folder – Special folder for storing reports
- Honours Program Coordinator – Scott Marlow
- Additional excursion opportunities (when appropriate)
