Dance is a part of the Arts department that is building rapidly with some exciting changes happening as the year progresses.

Dance is offered to students in all Year levels.

In Year 8, students have the opportunity to be a part of the Year 8 Performing Arts class (see information about this in the Drama page LINK)

In Year 9 students study Dance for a semester and in Year 10 for a whole year and explore the three key dimensions of Choreography, Performance and Appreciation. Styles covered throughout these year levels include Safe practices, modern Jazz, Hip Hop, Social and Tap. Students will also participate in public dance performances, dance festivals and eisteddfods.

In Senior Dance students have the option to study either a SAS course of OP course of Dance (planned implementation in 2010). Throughout Senior Dance students will explore a range of dance styles which also exploring the three dimensions of choreography (creating dance); Performance (performing Dance) and Appreciation (analysing Dance).

Like the other Arts subjects, many opportunities are provided for Dance students to be involved s in extra curricular activities such as Dance nights and various eisteddfods. (Extra Curricular Opportunities)
