The Visual Art Department is actively involved in various competitions, exhibitions, displays and community mural projects. These include:
- Synergy- an annual school exhibition that is supported by Member for Broadwater- Peta-Kaye Croft held in the library. This display showcases artwork across all year levels in fine art, graphic art, photography and new media.
- Biannual Musical-the Visual Arts department designs and creates the sets and props in conjunction with Manual Arts.
- Gold Coast Show- Visual Arts has an ongoing commitment to display work across all year levels in all media.
- ‘Energies’- a non-competitive display of senior art students work from schools throughout the Gold Coast region. It is held annually at the Arts Centre, Bundall.
- ‘Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Visual Arts’- a state-wide exhibition that displays art work from senior students.
- ‘Enviro Art’ Camp held at Numinbah Valley and is open to senior Visual Arts students from the Gold Coast Region who possess both talent and commitment. It is an excellent opportunity for students to work along side their peers and arts professionals.
