Tablet Learning is Coming to Coombabah High

BYOD is Coming to Coombabah High
In 2015 Junior Secondary classroom pedagogy will change significantly with a noticeable increase in e-Learning. We have conducted a trial with tablets with a Year 8 class, with a view to introducing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program in 2015. The trial was very successful and we are in agreement with researchers who believe the BYOD programs significantly enhance the teaching and learning which occurs in the classroom.
As a result of the success of the trial we are introducing the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program from the start of 2015.  This will give students the opportunity to bring a personal device to school, connect it to our network and take advantage of the resources we are putting in place.
We expect that all classes in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be BYOD in 2015.
We have held information nights for the parents of students who will be Years 7-9 in  2015.  At these sessions  we shared some of the results from our trial.
