Parents and Carers are encourged to prepare their students BYO device to connect to the CSHS computer network to access fast, free and safe internet.   There is no need to supply your student with a 4G or 5G connection.

Only iPads, Macs and Windows laptops can connect to the Department of Education network.  Unfortunately Chromebooks, Android or Windows 11 S are unable to connect.

Getting Started

Below is a short video to follow for each type of device. We recommend playing the video on a phone and pausing the video as you follow the instructions on your student's device.

You will need you student's username to complete the task. e.g. asmit12.  This is the same username for students who were enrolled in a Qld state school.  If your student is from interstate or, from an independant school they will be issued their school network username in week one.

You will also need a password.  All passwords for new students have temporarily been reset to:

Passw0rd1   (the 0 is the key for the number zero)

Students can change their password at any time.  All students will undergo an IT Induction session in Week 2.

Please locate the video for your device below.  If you experience difficulties, don't worry, the IT team will assist in the first few weeks of Term 1.

Please do not be concerned if the connection process is unsuccessful, we will ensure that all student devices are connected in the first few weeks of Term 1.
