AQF Certificate Courses

​Below are the courses that are offered at Coombabah State High School:

CPC10120 - Certificate I in Construction (My Industry Training) – Students in Year 11 or 12 with interest in the Construction Industry can complete this nationally recognised qualification over half a day per week over 3 terms.  Free for eligible students through VETiS funding, with all resources, equipment, building materials and personal protective equipment provided. CPC10120 - Certificate I in Construction - Hutchinson Builders' GOLD COAST SCHOOL of CONSTRUCTION - READY 4 CONSTRUCTION (R4C Program) – Delivered on live construction sites, gives you direct exposure to a wide range of construction trades and professions, and the latest industry knowledge. You'll get to observe workers on the job in their day-to-day work so you can get a real taste of what's involved. R4C combines real world training where you will undertake a Certificate I in Construction unlike anywhere else. There are 11 units of competency — 8 core and 3 electives — which are grouped together as practical tasks that you would typically perform on a construction site and you will also obtain a Construction Safety 'White Card' as well. You will attend the nominated site one day per fortnight during each term over the school year. CHC20121 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Propel Learning) - Throughout the course, students learn about the responsibilities involved in engaging with groups of children and individuals, how children grow and develop and observing children to learn about their interests and needs. HLT23215 - Certificate II in Health Support Services/HLT33115 - Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (TAFE) This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work as a Health Service Assistant in nursing or aged care  occupations ​ This course provides successful students a nationally recognised credential as an AIN Nurse (Assistant in Nursing) or carer/Health Assistant.​​  ​FURTHER INFORMATION:   Head of Department – Mrs Liz Bailey, Phone 55523835 or email  ebail40@eq.edu.au

SIT20322 - Certificate II in Hospitality/SIT306122 -Certificate III in Hospitality - (Blueprint Career Development) - Hospitality is an area of study that provides students with a range of interpersonal skills with a general application in personal and working life, as well as with specific knowledge and skills related to employment with the hospitality industry.  This course will provide students with other minor certificates including RSA, RSG and First Aid. AHC20416 - Certificate II in Horticulture (LT Training Enterprises) - This is a certificated industry course that gives students a nationally recognised credential. BSB30120 - Certificate III in Business (Blueprint Career Development) - The world in which we live in is dominated by businesses both big and small. There is a strong argument that in the future, everyone will need to have had a business education as whatever you do in your professional life, the chances are that it will involve some form of business. From customer service and occupational health and safety, to a number of specialty areas including administration, finance, marketing and management, modern businesses are not just about boring paper jobs! FSK20119 - Certificatate II in Skills for Work and Vocational PathwaysTodays’ society is ever changing and the job market is evolving faster than many can keep up with.  Having a broad range of skills in preparation for entering the job market will set students up for success, and enable them to have entry level skills many others wouldn’t have.  The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways focuses on improving digital literacy, reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication, learning and employability skills, and will help students to be confident with the skills required for daily workplace tasks. This qualification is designed for individuals who require skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.

BSB20120 - Certificate II in Workplace Skills (formerly Certificate II in Business) - The world in which we live in is dominated by businesses both big and small. There is a strong argument that in the future, everyone will need to have had a business education as whatever you do in your professional life, the chances are that it will involve some form of business.  The Certificate II in Workplace skills qualification provides foundational skills and knowledge needed to start your career in the Business world. Students will carry out a range of basic procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require self-management and technology skills. They perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context.
