BICYCLES & SCOOTERS | |
Riding to school | No riding of bikes/scooters in school grounds. Secure bikes/scooters in compound. No responsibility will be taken for bike/scooter damage or loss outside of the bike/scooter enclosure. |
BUSES | |
Travel to and from school | Contact Kinetic bus lines on 5552 2700 (menu option 204) for eligibility. Students not adhering to the bus travel code of conduct may be banned from using the service. Bus passes and more information are available in the quick links. Email info@kinetic.com.au

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS | |
In the event of a fire or similar | The siren sounds in a continual series of short bursts. Exit to assigned evacuation areas. |
In the event of danger from outsiders or similar | A siren will sound (similar to a truck reversing). Students remain in classroom locking all doors and windows. If during a break move to nearest room. |
FIRST AID/SICKNESS | |
Injured or not feeling well: | |
-During class | Advise teacher and request to go to Administration Office – bring note. |
-During morning tea/lunch break | Go directly to Administration Office |
-Are injured in the playground/outside of class time | Go directly to Administration Office or send for assistance. |

LOST PROPERTY | |
Such as items of clothing | Mark all items with owner's name. Report missing item(s) to the Uniform Shop or check at the Administration Office. |
MEDICATION | |
Need to take medication at school | Is the responsibility of the student unless official medication form completed and lodged at the Administration Office. |
MOBILE DEVICE | |
What is the policy? | They may be used during breaks. |
| They must be switched off and out of sight during class time. If not students will be directed to take them to the Deans Office and collect them at the end of the day. |
| They are brought to school entirely at the student's own risk. |
| To avoid any possibility of a breach of the Invasion of Privacy Act, students are not permitted to record or photograph other students or staff. Any student who photographs or shoots footage of students in school uniform and then posts the images/footage on the Internet will face serious consequences from the School and/or police action. |
PARENT/TEACHER COMMUNICATION | |
What is the process? | Reports are produced four times a year and parent/teacher meetings occur twice a year. Progress reports and/or interviews may be arranged at any time through the appropriate Year Dean. SMS messages are sent out when required and email contact is regularly utilised. Our

When do meetings occur? | Meetings are advertised on Facebook. Meetings are on a Monday at 4.00 pm in the Staff Common Room. All welcome.

PERMISSION TO LEAVE SCHOOL GROUNDS | |
What do I do? | A parent note must be presented to the Library Office before school or morning tea and a leave pass organised. |
PERSONAL PROPERTY | |
Who is responsible? | All personal property is the responsibility of individual students. Students should carry their bags with them and
NOT leave any valuables in them if unattended. Any large sums of money should be handed to the Administration Office for safekeeping. |
SKATEBOARDS | |
Are they permitted? | No – they are a safety hazard to both students and staff. |
SPORT | |
When does it happen? | Sport cluster days - Interschool Sport Days - occur on five Tuesdays in first semester for Years 7 to 10. |
STUDENT DRIVERS | |
Can I drive to school? | Yes – students with licenses are permitted to drive to school and bring any siblings with them. Students may park in the public car park below Industrial Technology and Design. |
UNIFORM | |
If not in full school uniform (including hair, make-up and piercings) | Report to the Deans' office before school with a note of explanation and have it countersigned. Students whose appearance is unacceptable to the Administration will be required to rectify the issue immediately or participate in an alternative program of study until the issue is resolved. Excessive make-up will require removal at Administration Office. |
VISITORS | |
What is the process? | All visitors must report to the Administration Office to sign in and collect a pass. It is illegal for parents/visitors to be on school grounds without first observing this procedure. The only gate open during school hours in Administration.
