What is Homestay?

Homestay provides international students with a safe, supportive family environment, including a private bedroom, three daily meals, snacks and assistance with school transport.

Students are welcomed as family members, participating in daily life and activities while gaining valuable insights into Australian culture.

Homestays offer a nurturing environment that supports both academic success and personal growth, making the experience enriching for students and families alike.

Host Families

Host families benefit from a rewarding cultural exchange and lifelong friendships. To qualify, families must meet Education Queensland International (EQI) requirements, including holding valid Blue Cards for all household members over 18, providing suitable study and living facilities, and ensuring appropriate insurance.

Blue Card Requirements

All household members over 18 years of age must hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check) to host international students. This is a mandatory Queensland Government requirement for child safety.
