Staying Safe Online

The eSafety Commissioner is Australia's independent regulator for online safety. They provide support, advice and resources to help students, parents and educators navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

Support for Students

eSafety can help if you're experiencing cyberbullying or online abuse. Their services include advice on how to report online safety issues to social media companies, support for dealing with harmful content, and guidance on protecting your personal information and digital reputation.

Resources for Parents and Carers

The eSafety website provides parents with practical advice on topics including:

  • Parental controls and screen time management
  • Social media safety and privacy settings
  • Online gaming safety
  • Combating misinformation and scams
  • Age-appropriate content and digital citizenship

School Support

At Coombabah State High School, we utilise eSafety's Online Safety Toolkit and educational resources to help students become responsible digital citizens. The Commissioner's office also provides free student webinars and professional learning for educators to build online safety knowledge and skills.

Making a Report

If you or your child are experiencing serious cyberbullying or image-based abuse, you can make a formal report to eSafety. They have the power to investigate complaints and can require social media services to remove harmful content.
